Like a refreshing waft of clean air cleaving through a stifling, smoky room, courtship reemerges as an alternative to the insipid dating scene. It should be obvious why I say "reemerges," since courtship was the only game in town for centuies in Western Culture. "Dating," the idea of throwing unself-controlled boys and emotionally-vulnerable girls together in intimate encounters "so they can get to know each other," is a historically new (not to mention inane) way to bring about matrimony. This relatively short treatise by Natali Miller does a very admirable job of reintroducing courtshipinto our day and culture. It is encouraging to note that her voice is actually one of many (a growing number, in fact) that are calling for a return to what works.
