The title of this book reflects the charcter of the Church Order of the Canadian Reformed Churches. This Church Order is not a "Constitution and Bylaws" but isw a document that contains the conditions the churches have adopted for their living together in one federation. these autonomous churches have neither surrendered nor transferred any of their God-gived authority to anyone. The unity of the Canadian Reformed Churches is the unity of faith. They are united by Christ who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands. This is the theme of the book, and throughout the whole work it is shown that the church policy of the Canadian Reformed Churches honours both the Supremecy of Christ, The only universal bishop, and the autonomy of the local churches.
