The purpose of the Book of Revelations is not to give an understanding of the minute details of what will happen on the Last Day, or in the days leading up to that glorious event. Instead, the book is in the bible to show us that God is working in such a way that His marvelous promises will finally all be fulfilled and that the church of Jesus Christ shall know the complete outworking to God's gracious Covenant. As such, the Book of Revelations is a book of comfort. It reminds us that even though life is often difficult for the church, God is still on the Throne!
